Hi, I’m Joanne, the owner and sushi chef behind Sushi Obsession. Growing up with entrepreneurial parents, I learned the ins and outs of running a business from a young age. This foundation has shaped my journey, allowing me to bring my love for food and my passion for sushi into the world in a way that feels authentic and personal.
I started Sushi Obsession because of my deep love for food and the way it brings people together. After running a brick-and-mortar location for some time, I transitioned to doing pop-ups, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The flexibility of pop-ups has allowed me to enjoy a better work-life balance while still sharing the art of sushi with my community. I believe in doing what you love and making time for what matters most—family, creativity, and the joy of great food.
As a business owner, adaptability is key. Whether it’s adjusting my business to meet new challenges or taking a break to reset, I’ve learned that success comes from staying connected to both my craft and my purpose. My goal is to provide an experience that celebrates the art of sushi and the connections it fosters.
